Orme expects students to contribute to the School community and to have an understanding of the importance of integrity and personal responsibility as they relate to community living. Admission to Orme is based upon personal character, scholarship, and commitment.

An Orme School Visit - What To Prepare For:
Visiting an independent boarding school is a serious decision. At Orme, we believe your visit is an important part of the admissions process and look forward to getting to know you. Here are a few important points to understand and keep in mind as you make your plans to visit our campus.
- Call the Admissions Office and schedule a date and time to visit campus. Complete Parts I and II of the Application for Admission and mail or fax before your arrival.
- A visit to The Orme School consists of a student-led tour (if students are available) and an interview with a member of the admissions staff. Attending a class and lunch are optional. Visits last one to three hours, depending on how much time you would like to spend in addition to the tour and interview.
- The Orme School class day dress code consists of a collared shirt (long or short sleeves) and a neat, appropriate appearance.
- If interested in scheduling an additional appointment with any member of the Orme faculty or staff, please let us know ahead of time so we may set that up for you.
- The Orme School Admissions Office is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. We do not accommodate over-night visits.
- If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please call and let us know and we can reschedule our meeting for another day.
Please complete our admissions form to receive information and an application packet from The Orme School. If you have any further questions or comments, please email us at admissions@ormeschool.org.
-
In order to better evaluate the applicant's ability to handle our academic program, recent (within one year) standardized testing is requested.
-
While the SSAT exam is not required for admissions, Orme strongly recommends that all prospective students take it. If additional testing is necessary, the School recommends the Wechsler Intelligence Test (WISC) and/or the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT). Please call the Admissions Office for further information regarding this testing.
The Orme School is a testing site for the SSAT exam. Listed below are the dates the exam will be administered. Please contact the Admissions Office (admissions@ormeschool.org) for further information.
