Colorado Plateau Region

Since the School's inception in 1929, most of our longer excursions have explored the spectacular, world-famous Colorado Plateau, which rises just to the north. The Plateau is a vast, Germany-sized natural province that boasts the most spectacular canyon country and some of the most bizarre geological wonders in the world, as well as the greatest diversity of American Indian (Native American) cultures and the greatest concentration of archaeological sites, national parks, and monuments in the United States. In our Outdoor Programs, students have the opportunity to visit such well known examples as the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce, along with many other equally exciting but less publicized locations.
