Phillips Library & Yavapai Library Network Together!


A free Yavapai Library Network card is given to all students and faculty.  Family, staff and other members of the Orme community are also welcome to obtain a library card, by contacting the Phillips Library Librarian.  A parent or guardian signature is required for anyone under the age of 18 who is not a student at The Orme School.

Everyone can access the library network and place holds on any items therein.  All items in the Phillips Library may be loaned for a period of three weeks with the option to renew for an additional three weeks.  Materials borrowed from other libraries may have different loan periods and their fines may be higher.

Everyone who has a library card through the Phillips Library is responsible for all items checked out through their cards.  Replacement for a library card is $5.00.  Please report a lost or stolen library card immediately to the staff of the Phillips library.


NOTICE
:  OVERDUE FINES - All materials will be charged 15 cents a day after their due date.  Fines from other libraries will vary.

The Phillips Library  houses 22,000 books and 60 magazines/ periodicals.  Our library is one of forty libraries in Yavapai County that make up the Yavapai Library Network Consortium.  This allows our students and faculty access to approximately one million items and various subscription databases.  (See below)

 


The Julia O’Brien Wilcox Computer Learning Center and classroom computers have brought the total number of networked student computer stations on campus to 64.  All classrooms are networked via either fiber or wireless access.  A T-1 supplies speedy internet access. 

Library


Technology at Orme is integrated into all classroom teaching. Each is connected to the School network. Research skills using the Internet and research paper writing using the computer are taught across disciplines. The School's required Research Paper Documentation Style can be found on the Current Students page.

The Orme School of Arizona is a Windows XP environment using Office XP applications.
